The role

As an experienced technician within the civil and structural team, your primary focus will be to undertake 2D and 3D modelling, drawing, and detailing, maintain high technical standards and help to guide and develop junior staff. You will collaborate and work with colleagues on projects, internal and client, fostering a knowledge-sharing environment.

The ideal candidate will be able to use their skills and knowledge to add value to a wide range of construction projects across the complete construction spectrum. Current projects include Schools, Colleges & Universities, Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Petrochemical, Food and Energy.

In your role, you will contribute to the delivery of multiple projects of varying sizes at the same time where you will be responsible for coordinating and preparing BIM solutions. You will be skilled in the production of BIM models and CAD drawings to a high standard. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining common data environments in accordance with project requirements and BIM standards.

You will be required to plan your work in a structured manner, working with colleagues in addressing peaks and troughs in resource demand, and help to prioritise project delivery.

Required for the position

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • You should be proactive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and engaging team player.
  • A HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil & structural engineering, with a focus on designing and delivering complex projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, Autodesk REVIT and (preferable) Civil 3D;
  • Experience of incorporation, manipulation, and interrogation of survey data;
  • Ability to produce 2D drawings and 3D models with minimal supervision;
  • Experience with common data environments in accordance with BIM standards and best practice;
  • A proactive, self-motivated, team-player;
  • A proficient level of IT literacy;
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels;
  • Full UK driving licence.
