The Community Growth Hub provides supported opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autism through its garden centre, café and community spaces. The hub promotes health, wellbeing and education while helping individuals develop valuable life skills and greater independence.
As part of the volunteering day, Paul Burrell and Edelle Brookes from AWP's Stockton office joined the Growth Hub team and Service Users to help clear overgrown planting beds within the garden centre. Despite the exceptionally dry conditions, the group worked together to remove a significant amount of vegetation and improve the outdoor environment.
The experience provided an opportunity to support a well-established local initiative while working alongside the dedicated staff and Service Users who contribute to the hub's success. AWP received a warm welcome throughout the day and was proud to play a small part in supporting the valuable work being delivered by the Community Growth Hub.
