Kiplin Hall's New Cafe and Visitor Entrance

11 September 2025

We are pleased to have contributed to the successful delivery of Kiplin Hall’s new cafe and visitor entrance.

The project involved the careful restoration and adaptation of a Grade II Listed stable block, formerly used by the University of Maryland, into a fully functional kitchen and servery, forming part of a wider enhancement of the estate’s visitor amenities.

Preserving the building’s historic integrity was a key focus throughout. Works included thermal improvements, lime mortar repointing, structural and drainage upgrades, and the installation of a bespoke double-glazed timber shopfront to improve energy efficiency and natural light.

Working alongside Bauman Lyons Architects Ltd, Alan Wood and Partners provided full civil and structural engineering services to support the successful delivery of this heritage-led project.
