192m long by 16m wide extension to existing glass bottle manufacturing facility to accommodate new bottle production line. Works included the design and construction of the new building extension, drainage and external works.
Encirc continued operating out of the adjoining building producing bottles for the duration of the works and this operation could not be impacted by the works.
The building is a steel framed clad structure built off piled foundations with the process line located on the first floor. Collaboration and coordination were key to the success of this project with Alan Wood & Partners working closely with the Client and his Process Engineering Team.
Full design information utilised to seek competitive tender from select list. NEC4 Option A Contract was utilised for the procurement and construction. The client split the packages of works out into Civils, Steelwork and Cladding requiring Alan Wood & Partners to manage 3 contracts under a Principal Contractor. The latter stages of the project were challenging due to Covid-19 and the Principal Contractor entering into administration.
