The project comprised of a new build, 3 storey, iconic steel framed building with an impressive atrium and roof garden including spaces for offices, consultation rooms, ward spaces and specialist testing rooms. The project was made more challenging as the Engineering had to not only ensure the building was fit for purpose in terms of functionality and meeting the standards for specialist equipment loading and dynamic requirements but also incorporate the clients’ aesthetic aspirations including structural curves and cantilevers throughout the structure. The structure consisted of a steel frame, composite concrete / steel floors, suspended concrete ground floor slab with piled foundations. The building was completed in September 2021.
