Alan Wood & Partners were commissioned to undertake an inspection of the building fabric of Kingsway Park High School in Rochdale and prepare a Condition Report of the school, this was to include all internal areas, external elevations and roofs.
Spanning across three blocks with an approximate site GIFA of 11,190sq/m over three storeys. We surveyed two of the main teaching blocks within the school summer holidays to assess the current condition of the buildings to advise on future maintenance as well as the potential impact on the structure and internal finishes as a result of proposed alterations to the site and buildings.
We worked alongside and M&E sub-contractor and drone surveyor to provide an exhaustive assessment of all aspects of the buildings surveyed, as well as providing a structural appraisal of the concrete framed part of the school building.
We carried out the survey using iPad surveying software (GoReport) to capture the condition of the building quickly and accurately on site, tailoring the outputs to suit the scoping requirements of the Client which included condition ratings and PDF and Excel outputs to allow key elements to be extrapolated for use as part of planned maintenance and repair requirements.
